"Due to time mismanagement my overambitious release date of my Doctor Who/Read or Die crossover is now defunct.
Although as a peace offering I will post up a chapter soon. Within the week. "
Sorry guys. You'll have to wait a LITTLE longer. :(

Hey lovelies, I don't even know if y'all are still around, but just FYI...
I have made a page that is a guide to the doujin game ElePaper Action here:
http://www.deathquaker.org/rod/epag uide.html
It still needs some work (and yes, my HTML skills ARE circa 1996, thank you), and I want to add some more/larger screencaps at some point. If you have any suggestions or corrections please let me know. Thanks.

The Heroes Phantasia trailer is up on youtube, it looks pretty cool. It looks a bit like Super Robot Wars, but with fantasy anime. I recognized Read or Die, Slayers, Darker than Black, Mai Hime and Louie the Ruin Soldier.
Nancy and Yomiko are in there, tho I was disappointed not to see the Paper Sisters too. Or Nenene.

Hi everyone! I've posted a few chapters of a new fic I'm working on, and though I suspect some of you have already run across it, posting to this community always makes me happy.
Rating: M
Length: 10000+ WIP
Warnings: Will eventually include depictions of violence, coarse language, spoilers for R.O.D the TV, and the use of Google as a plot device.
Summary: Follows from the end of R.O.D the TV. In the wake of the fall of Dokusensha and The British Library, there is another organisation seeking control over the information economy. What will come of the Google Books deal?
Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. The author is in no way associated with the owners, creators, or producers of any media franchise. No copyright infringement is intended.
I've posted it all over the place, if you're interested please read it wherever suits you best. The AO3 offers ebook reader friendly formats for download, if that is useful for anyone. I'd love to hear what people make of it, since I'm trying to do justice to so many characters within it.

I'm sorry I haven't posted the masterlist I promised yet; I've returned to study and my computer's died, so I've had to re-do a lot of the work I did in the first place. I am still working on it in small doses, it's just easier to decompress at the end of a day writing fiction, than organising entries and links. I hope to have it ready sometime, but I'm afraid I can't promise it anytime soon.

~~Firstly, we apologize for any spam this may be causing, but we're trying to reach everyone we can! We've done our best to research the communities we're posting to for any advertisement permission requirements, however if we've managed to miss one in our audit, dear mods, please feel free to smite this post where it sits. ^_^~~
Hello, everyone!
I'm writing to invite everyone in this community to
yuri_challenge, a yuri/femslash fanfic and fanart challenge community making its return after a long hiatus.
Though this community is not necessarily "yuri-themed" we felt that given the slashability of the characters in this fandom that it might be of healthy interest to those watching it. ;) The bonus of participating this challenge will be that you could quite possibly end up crossposting your submission to the community you're reading in now! Spreading the love and adding to fandom at the same time is a great combo~
Stories and art are based on a prompt for each challenge, and the theme for this Round is "Proverbs" Basically, you will be providing a fandom, pairing, and a proverb, and then it will show up on a biiiiig claims post for people to pick to write or draw from~
All fandoms are welcome (TV/anime/books/etc), however the community does not permit RPF/RPS as we're about the characters, not the people playing them. Sorry!
Prompt submissions for this Round have already started over here, so be sure to join the community and drop off your prompts for folks to peruse!
Thanks for your time in reading. :D

I don't know if this has been posted to this community yet, but I remember a post made this past May about a Blu-ray release of R.O.D and there were inquiries of a US release.
Behold - the entire TV series and OVA available in one book shaped case.
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo gmgr/5HLE9r1qk31Um9mdGo/browse/item/8970 6/4/0/0

It's good to see that R.O.D is available for new and old fans alike. It was a bit worrying to wonder about the fate of the fandom's future when Geneon went under (no new DVDs availabe) and no new manga series were being released.
All we have left now are the light novels. Perhaps we can get the whole trifecta some day?

For someone who's not around much, our lovely mod
tennyo is pretty quick to answer requests! We've got tags, and I've got my fingers crossed that I haven't missed anything. In an attempt to keep the junking down to a minimum, since we're such a small comm I didn't ask for pairing or rating tags. I hope I've covered all types of fanworks worth browsing back in time for! I've even done some tagging myself, but if I've missed anything please feel free to go back in time and edit tags yourselves! Since you can only add tags that have already been used, my second-last post has been tagged with nearly everything. As more tags come into use, I'll go back and tidy that up so that my entry is only present under the relevant tags. For the moment, I just wanted to make sure anyone could go back and add any tags they wanted to.
I'm working on a masterlist for fanfiction and other fanworks because there's a few users who've closed or lost their LJ accounts, and I can't edit those tags. Also, I've tagged some entries that only reference, link to or discuss fanworks that probably shouldn't be put into a community fanwork masterlist. Since I'm hoping to list pairings, wordcounts, and if relevant specific canon continuities, it might take me a few more weeks to polish it up to standard.
In future, we can tag posts with fanwork specific things like fanfiction, fanart, amvs, icons, edited images, wallpapers, cosplay etc. We can also tag screencaps, requests and questions, links and recommendations, and entries regarding the wiki. The requests/questions tag in particular will be useful for a slow comm like ours; people will be able to see and hopefully help answer some of our dilemmas even if a lot of time has elapsed.
If you think of more tags that would be worth adding, I'd recommend you try contacting
tennyo or (though I am not a mod and can't add tags myself) me. If you have any comments or just want to discuss ideas for tags, please comment! All community tagging is a journey in mistakes and refinement until tags work for the community's needs, and I am looking forward to seeing where I hit the mark and where I completely missed.
If you've got some icons, fanfiction, fanart or other fanworks sitting around that you haven't uploaded or linked to yet, why not use these shiny new tags as an excuse to do so now!

From what I can tell (though I'd love to discover otherwise), there's never been any R.O.D fanfiction posted for Yuletide, an end-of-year fanfiction exchange. This year I posted two shorts, but I'm really posting here to recommend the two other R.O.D fics that got posted, in case members here haven't been looking at the AO3's R.O.D page.
There's 'the world is made to help people find each other' by penny as a gift for calliette. The summary is 'Five moments in Hisami's romance with Anita, as seen through the titles of Nenene Sumiregawa's novels.' It's lovely and wonderful and all the things I love about Anita/Hisami.
And Postcards by froglocket for Jennaria. There's no summary there, but it's basically a series of postcards exchanged between Nancy (2) and Yomiko post TV-series. It's really very sweet, and though I don't go for Yomiko/Nancy myself I really enjoyed reading it.
My own are Nails Stand Out (Anita/Hisami) and A Light-hearted Narrative (Yomiko/Nenene), in case anyone's curious, too.
As a side-note, I had a bit of a question regarding admin, though this comm is so quiet generally it's hardly urgent. We only have one tag (announcements), and one mod. To make fic, fanart and other meta-discussions more easily searchable for new fans, would it be worth considering establishing more tags? Or, if nobody active right now has modly/universal tagging powers, would the compilation of a community fanwork master post be easier? I've found both tags and master fic lists made discovering other fandoms far easier, and even though we're small here I think it might make a huge difference for new fans. If there's already a masterlist that I've just been too blind to notice, please swat me up the back of the head and I will apologise for being dim.
[ETA - Tags! Our lovely mod has given us tags, and I've tried some out here. Still working on the masterlist.]
[ETA - All fanfiction I found in back entries now tagged. I'll get onto fanart and other things in a day or so. Some old members have had deleted accounts for one reason or another and I could not edit their entry tags, so I'll press on with the masterlist]

Today it saddens me to report that my forum (The Secluded Library) has been closed.
Simply put, it's been almost two years since there was any large amount of posts. So, I made the decision (although pained) that there are probably larger communities (like here) that are more effective of uniting R.O.D fans than my lackluster effort.
Luckily though this has come in a turnaround for me in creative efforts...
1: In a month or two (before Anime Detour 2011) I will be re-releasing "Peaceful Leaves" as one document (also edited to tighten up the story a bit, I did sort of write a couple chapters as a free flow consciousness trip) on a new Google Site page where I will be hosting other fan fictions I'm going to start whipping up.
2: After Detour... I plan on starting a new fan fiction, one this time with ambition... I'll post a teaser on 3-31-11. I'm giving myself a deadline to get myself motivated.
3: That Doctor Who/R.O.D crossover fanfic I was planning on writing? It's actually about to start too...
So... I'm not out of the community, I'm just re-starting.
